Belvoir adds exotic dragon fruit to soft drinks range

Belvoir Dragonfruit Raspberry

Belvoir Fruit Farms has launched an exotic new soft drink made with sweet organic white dragon fruit juice combined with rich raspberries and crisp redcurrants.

The new Organic Dragon Fruit & Raspberry Pressé was chiefly developed by the Leicestershire-based company to meet demand from the US market. It has now been launched into UK foodservice to tap into a trend for exotic flavours in Britain’s soft drinks market.

Pev Manners, managing director at Belvoir Fruit Farms, said: “Sales of Belvoir drinks are going extremely well in the USA and so when we received requests for a dragon fruit-flavoured drink we took it on board and looked into how it could be done.

“This is a very popular flavour in the States and has taken us slightly off our usual course of traditionally more English ingredients but we think it could be a success in the UK as increasing number of consumers are seeking out exotic flavour combinations.”

Like all Belvoir’s drinks, Organic Dragon Fruit & Raspberry Pressé is hand made at Belvoir using only natural ingredients and no artificial preservatives, additives or sweeteners.

It is available only in Belvoir’s 25cl glass bottles and is designed to be drunk alone over ice although it will also work as a mixer with spirits. It is available from this month from Libra Drinks Wholesale.

Pev added: “In an increasingly crowded soft drinks market it’s important to keep the range fresh and exciting. We believe that our new Organic Dragon Fruit & Raspberry Pressé not only shows that we listen to our customers but that we have a sense of adventure, willing to try new ingredients to tempt the consumers’ taste buds.”
