Bidvest Foodservice unveils new range for summer dining

Bidvest Foodservice has unveiled its seasonal range for summer, from light breakfasts and barbecue meats to glassware and refreshing drinks.

The new Create Summer range includes items from the Bidvest Foodservice Own Brand portfolio as well as popular branded items, selected after market research and insights.

Food ideas include snack items, breakfast options and desserts as well as outdoor cooking equipment, crockery and glassware, available online and in printed brochures.

For barbecues, the Bidvest Foodservice Farmstead brand offers over 300 fresh meat products. They are recommended for cooking with flavourful seasonings and serving with seasonal accompaniments.

Gail Bridgeman, Bidvest Foodservice’s campaign and activation manager, said: “Summer brings a great opportunity to extend to an all-day dining menu, from breakfast items – which can be made using the recently re-launched Farmstead bacon range – to sharing boards, on-the-go quick bites and snacks, all tailored to meet consumer demand and their specific dietary needs.

“With more consumers choosing vegetarian meals as part of a lifestyle choice, it is essential summer menus also cater for this demand. Within the Create Summer range we have included everything from Quorn sausage patties, to spicy bean burgers, vegetarian chicken strips and sausage rolls, making it easy for operators to add a wide selection of meat-free options to their offering.

“To end the meal on a high, we’ve also ensured that the sweet selection is as vast as the savoury. This includes handmade French patisserie-style desserts, such as our new coffee and chocolate delice or raspberry and almond tart.

“We are also pleased to introduce two new desserts to the Premium Selection range with an Individual Trifle Torte and a Tiramisu Teardrop. These are both modern takes on traditional, nostalgic desserts and come in individual thaw-and-serve formats for consistency and ease of portion and cost control for the customer.

“From speaking to our customers and using market insight, we are launching some seasonal products which include a Baked Alaska, a Sherbet Lemon mousse square and a Raspberry and Gooseberry Fool. We hope these refreshing, flavour combinations will bring a touch of summer to our customers menus and help grow their summer sales.
