Big Al’s adds sausage patties for breakfast market

Big Al’s has added sausage patties to its range, helping operators to tap into the growing breakfast and brunch market.

The Fully Cooked Big Al’s Sausage Pattie is made from fully cooked pork, flame grilled and seasoned with sage, nutmeg and pepper. It is supplied ready to serve from frozen in under a minute.

According to data from research specialist NPD Group, the foodservice market has seen a 7% increase in consumers eating out during breakfast, with the breakfast channel expected to grow by 5.7% in 2018 and a further 4.8% in 2019.

Darragh Gilhawley, head of business development UK at Big Al’s, said: “This introduction to the market allows operators to stay on top of the current trends and entice more and more consumers to eat breakfast out of home.”

The trend for breakfast and brunch but has expanded across the entire day, with outlets now incorporating all-day breakfast dishes on their menus to satisfy “Breakfastarians” – those who are looking for breakfast dishes at any time.

Breakfast represented more than an eighth of the 11.36 billion out-of-home visits by the end of 2017, according to NPD. The average consumer spend at breakfast has increased by 31% since 2015.

“Operators can’t wait to get their hands on this new innovative breakfast product, and have commended the quality, versatility and great taste of the pattie. Precooked, frozen and ready to serve in 35 seconds, the Sausage Pattie is already in high demand.“

The Fully Cooked Sausage Pattie is versatile and lends itself to various different combinations, from a classic build to an indulgent brunch offering. It pairs perfectly with Framptons 50g Muffin Omelette from Central Foods, as well as its KaterBake English Breakfast Muffin.

Made with British Lion-quality eggs, the Framptons Muffin Omelettes are ready-cooked, round-shaped and designed to fit a standard four-inch bun or muffin. The KaterBake English Breakfast Muffin is a traditional, light and fluffy white bread muffin, dusted with a mix of polenta and rice flour with the outer edge lightly “forked” to give a more rustic look.

Serve a Big Al’s Sausage Pattie with a slice of cheese, Framptons Muffin Omelette and drop of ketchup encased in a KaterBake English Breakfast Muffin, or for a more indulgent offering, offer a Big Al’s Sausage Pattie on a bed of spinach, topped with a slice of cheese, poached egg and drizzle of hollandaise sauce, all in a toasted brioche bun.
