Licensees in the Midlands can pick up ideas to help them improve their bottom line at a roadshow brought to Birmingham by the BII.

The 50 for 50 Roadshow at Birmingham City Football Club on Wednesday February 11 is a half-day event featuring five industry experts delivering 50 business ideas.

Speakers include Lee Price, from The Royal Pier pub in Aberystwyth and the current BII Licensee of the Year Award winner, who will share 10 things every top licensee should be doing right now to grow their business.

There will also be presentations from pub trade digital guru Mark Daniels of app and website Inapub who among other things will show delegates how to use geo-location technology to attract new customers and how to get more from their websites.

Former BII Licensee of the Year Ali Carter, of menu costing system Catercost, will show attendees how to calculate the lifetime value of their customers, how to avoid food wastage and how to win customers by “creating memories”.

Phil Davison, another former BII Licensee of the Year and founder of the Marketing Circle, will show attendees how to create quick and simple marketing campaigns to fill their pubs at quiet times as well as how to re-focus their own time where it brings the most value to the business.

Over lunch, attendees will have the opportunity for a one-to-one session with each of the speakers to ask questions about their own business.

Caroline Nodder, the BII’s director of brand and business development, said: “Running a pub in today’s competitive market leaves you with little time to brainstorm new ideas so we have brought 50 of those ideas together in one half-day event. All our attendees will leave with the insight and inspiration to grow their own businesses and become more successful.”
