Birmingham Cocktail Weekend returns with more bars taking part

Birmingham Cocktail Weekend

This weekend, over 3,000 cocktail fans are set to take over the city as Birmingham Cocktail Weekend returns for 2017. The three-day spectacular will see 36 of Birmingham’s bars serve up over 20,000 cocktails throughout the course of the weekend, setting up this year’s festival to be the biggest and best yet.

From July 14 to 16, Birmingham Cocktail Weekend has built on the past two years’ success and upped the anti for 2017 by increasing its capacity, with more venues taking part in the event.

Cognac house Courvoisier has been named as this year’s headline sponsor and will take up residence at Hotel du Vin for the weekend. The Courvoisier Hub will be at the centre of the event with wristband collections and exclusive tasting sessions making it the perfect starting point for the cocktail adventure.

The 36 venues taking part include Malmaison, The Botanist, Harvey Nichols, The Lost & Found and Bodega as well as new venues Gaucho, Tom’s Kitchen, The Balcony, Siamais and Bourne & Co.

Birmingham Cocktail Weekend has teamed up with drinks brands to create a calendar of special events throughout the weekend. From boozy brunches to tantalising tastings, and even the chance to distil your own gin, these events will be hosted by the likes of Edinburgh Gin, Reyka Vodka, Jim Beam whiskey, Licor 43, Sailor Jerry rum and Stolichnaya Vodka.

Birmingham Cocktail Weekend’s founder and organiser Alex Nicholson-Evans said: “After the success of the last two years, I am so excited to be bringing BCW back for 2017. This year we’ve got an even bigger line-up of incredible venues and three days packed full of exciting events.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Courvoisier and Hotel Du Vin to give the Hub a fresh new look for 2017, as well as seeing our favourite venues return and a whole host of new ones sign up.

“I’m so glad that Birmingham Cocktail Weekend is able to provide a platform to showcase the city’s amazing offering and put the spotlight on Birmingham’s vibrant bar scene.”

Wristbands are on sale for £10 from and will allow the wearer to enjoy the exclusive signature cocktail in each participating venue for just £4, as well as getting access to free tastings and events too (subject to booking conditions). A limited number of wristbands will be available on the door for £10.
