Black Cow’s 2017 Gold Top Cup cocktail competition is open for entries

Pure milk vodka brand, Black Cow, has launched its cocktail competition, which asks bartenders to create a cocktail that illustrates a momentous experience in their life.

Following the success of last year’s contest which and the expansion of Black Cow Vodka to new markets, the company has made the decision to open up the 2017 competition to entries from Spain, California, Canada, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong as well as the UK.

Entrants are being asked to use a maximum of six ingredients native to their country of residence and judges will make a decision based on taste, presentation and narrative content. It’s hoped that this year’s theme of creating a drink which illustrates a momentous experience, like falling in love, discovering one’s true calling or being moved by some new understanding, will encourage entrants to be creative.

All finalists will receive a personalised Black Cow branded cocktail kit and will be brought to West Dorset, the home of Black Cow, to experience the wonders of the Dorset coastline by sea, sailing together along the famous Jurassic Coast on a tall ship, before battling it out for the trophy.

The overall winner will win the coveted Gold Top Cup and see their winning cocktail featured on the Black Cow bottle neck tags as well as receiving a prize of £1,000. Last year’s winner of The Gold Top Cup was Manachain Monaghan from The Monk Cocktail Bar in Buxton, pictured with his winning cocktail the National Park Cup.

Entry forms are available via the Black Cow website and contestants have until April 15 to enter.
