Bollywood inspires Slug and Lettuce cocktail list

Green Tea MartiniSlug and Lettuce bars have introduced a selection of Bollywood-inspired cocktails to accompany their curry menu.

The six drinks, available until May 6, include the palate-cleansing Green Tea Martini (pictured), shaken with coca liqueur Agwa de Bolivia, Absolut Citron vodka, sugar syrup and kiwi puree.

The Bombay Fruit Mix is a blend of Passoã passion fruit liqueur, Bombay Sapphire gin, pineapple juice and passion fruit while the cheekily named Kiwi Sutra is a “sensual” blend of Smirnoff Apple vodka, elderflower cordial, sugar syrup and kiwi puree.

Nicola Stuart, marketing manager at the bars’ operator Stonegate Pub Company, said: “The new cocktail menu at the Slug and Lettuce is set to thrill and excite cocktail lovers. We decided to complement our popular curry dishes by adding a limited-time-only assortment of exotic drinks to our cocktail menu.

“We have experimented with new ingredients including coriander leaves and have drawn our inspiration from Indian food, culture, music and of course the Indian film industry, Bollywood.”

Stonegate continues to invest in its Slug and Lettuce bars, most recently spending £275,000 on creating a new outing for the concept in the site of The Vanguard in West Street in Fareham, Hampshire. Due to reopen on March 20, the building was formerly a church.
