Boutique Bar Show is returning to Manchester this month, with a new location and new features alongside more than 50 drinks brands.
It will be in the Great Northern Warehouse (pictured) in Deansgate on May 13, with exhibitors, cocktail competitions, tastings and professional development sessions. Highlights include a chance to experience new Paris absinthe bar Lulu White, sister venue to Paris’s acclaimed Little Red Door.
Working with Hammonds of Knutsford, Boutique Bar Show will showcase newly launched brands in a “baby boutique” section, from Bermondsey Tonic Water to Cotswolds Distillery and New Dawn Traders, importers of Tres Hombres rum. Other brands at the show will include The Duppy Share rum, Eccentric Gin, Half Hitch Gin and Regal Rogue vermouth.
Other exhibitors will include 10 Degrees C, 55 North, Axiom Brands, Emporia Brands, Halewood International, Love Drinks, Marblehead Brand Development, Marussia Beverages, Old Spirits Company, Rémy Cointreau, Vine Distribution Services, Wemyss Malts, The West Indies Rum and Spirits Producers’ Association’s True Rum campaign and Tequila & Mezcal Fest.
This year’s tastings will focus on sherry and vermouth, with practical cocktail advice on conditioning cocktails from international consultancy Gorgeous Group. Cocktail history will be covered by David T Smith of Summer Fruit Cup in a talk about his new book, Forgotten Spirits & Long Lost Liqueurs.
Leading French drinks producer Gabriel Boudier will challenge bartenders to create a new liqueur. They can also compete to produce the perfect digestivo cocktail with distillery Bepi Tosolini with the prize of a trip to Italy.
Business owners and managers can benefit from a seminar on managing high performance, hosted by Watershed Management School, after the success of 2014.
Boutique beers will be presented by Cave Direct while food will be provided by restaurant group Red’s True BBQ.
