A preview of Boutique Bar Show in east London on September 20
Check out the best and newest drinks products and get inspiration from leading bartending experts at this year’s Boutique Bar Show. The nomadic event this year takes place on September 20 in the 19th-century converted stables opposite Old Spitalfields Market in east London, bringing together over 100 brands, including many new to the UK.
The line-up of experiences and speakers is being updated daily but already confirmed are presentations by teams from The Clumsies in Athens, Red Light in Bristol, Berry & Rye in Liverpool, The Larder House in Bournemouth, Cane & Grain in Manchester and The London Edition hotel.
Some of the new product launches from around the world include The Mixologist Beer from Belgium, Nginious Salted and Smoked Gin from Switzerland, Westerhall Rums from Grenada, The Tweeddale Blend Whisky from Scotland and Bimber Oak Aged Vodka from the new Bimber distillery in west London.
Cognac Larsen will introduce Larsen’s Summer Blend and Winter Blend, two inventive new products from Cognac, created exclusively for the bar trade and bartenders.
This year’s event will also debut a new area on the business of bars, with presentations ranging from recruitment and retention of staff by Watershed School, the management school for independent bar and restaurant businesses, to “Presenting Yourself”, led by Danil Nevsky from leading Amsterdam bar Tales & Spirits. There will also be ice carving workshops with Suntory ambassador Zoran Peric, armagnac blending sessions with Emporia Brands and Lauvia Armagnac, and the return of the “secret bar” – if you can find it.
The show’s founder and organiser Andrew Scutts comments: “We are really excited about this amazing new venue as it is a big step up for us and the perfect setting to showcase new and innovative brands alongside some of the world’s leading bars. By directly involving a number of venues from around the country, visitors are providing a unique platform for sharing knowledge and ideas within the industry.”
Moving to a one-day-only event with a limited capacity of 800, guests are advised to register early to avoid disappointment. It runs from 11am to 6pm at 106 Commercial Street. For all show experiences, exhibitors and an event timetable, visit www.boutiquebarshow.com.
