A striking new look has been unveiled at the latest craft beer bar opened by Scottish brewery BrewDog.

The new venue opens today in Battersea Rise in the Clapham Junction area of Battersea, south London – the company’s 17th bar in the UK and its 22nd worldwide. It is its fourth bar in London after Shepherd’s Bush, Camden and Shoreditch. It already has plans under way for bars in Brighton and Liverpool and a second bar in Glasgow plus Rome, Bologna, Helsinki and Berlin.

For its Battersea bar, it has worked with Michaelis Boyd, a leading design practice that has worked on hospitality projects across London such as Cabana bar and restaurant in Wembley, Pizza East in Shoreditch, and Parlour in Kensal Green as well as Soho House in Berlin and Los Angeles. It also designed BrewDog in Shepherd’s Bush.

Located at 11-13 Battersea Rise, it has capacity for 120 people and will feature 24 beers on tap. As is with all BrewDog bars, it will not only showcase the brewery’s own beers, but also offer craft beers from some of the best breweries from around the world.

Regular “Meet the brewer” events will be held at the new bar, which will also host brew sessions for customers to learn more about the craft beer and the brewing process. The bar will also serve a selection of artisanal meat and cheese boards.

BrewDog co-founder James Watt said: “We’re thrilled to be setting up a BrewDog home in Clapham Junction. With a bar in north, east and west London, we knew we had to give the people of south London a bar on their doorstep. With bars in all four corners of the capital, it means Londoners should never have to travel too far to get their hands on some great craft beer.

“BrewDog Clapham Junction will be a destination bar serving the craft beer enthusiasts in the area. We’ve got a great spot, with the scenic Clapham Common just around the corner – the location couldn’t be better.”

In the last five years, BrewDog has experienced an average annual growth of 285%, making it the fastest-growing food and drinks company in the UK. BrewDog’s bar division has played a big part in that growth, with the brewery opening 21 bars in four years.

Last year the brewery raised £4.25million in a record six months in the third round of its crowd-funding scheme Equity for Punks. Last year, it also launched its state-of-the-art brewery in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, increasing production capacity from 25,000 hectolitres to 250,000 hectolitres per year.
