As part of its £2.5m new production site on the outskirts of Newport in south Wales, Tiny Rebel Brewery has unveiled a new bar.

Officially launched earlier this month, the new 30,000 sq ft facility in Rogerstone has allowed the brewer to increase capacity to five million litres annually – nearly nine million pints. Alongside making its core range including the award-winning Cwtch, its first new release was the limited-edition insanely hoppy 10% triple IPA, Captain Insano.

The most recently completed part of the project is the fully operational bar and kitchen which offers a range of menus including Sunday lunches as well as catering for private functions, beer festivals, pop-ups and live music as well as brewery events and tours. The bar, located on Wern Industrial Estate, offers a massive selection of Tiny Rebel’s core, seasonal and special beers just a few feet from where they are brewed, from Cwtch and Clwb Tropicana to one-off collaborations.

Food on offer features whole-backed rainbow trout with broccoli, almond butter and game chips, slow-cooked pork belly with braised lentils, spinach, carrot and smoked bacon fritters, smoked beef brisket hash with green peppercorn sauce and fried egg, and hake in a Cwtch batter with triple-cooked chips, house tartare and lemon. There are also filled breads and salads on the menu as well as sharing platters, Sunday lunch and brunch at weekends.

Brad Cummings, who founded Tiny Rebel with Gazz Williams, says: “In just five years we have gone from home-brewing in a garage to a purpose-built and world-class facility. What was most important to us was to create a space for people to enjoy what Tiny Rebel represents. But we’ll also be able to increase the breadth of what we can produce and support continued growth from our new home.”

Gazz adds: “As our beers grew in popularity, we were desperate for additional capacity in both brewing and packaging. The new site is going to enable us to do even more to support the growing demand for Tiny Rebel beer, both at home and abroad. We currently export to 30 countries and this new brewery will enable us to expand to more markets and also accept larger overseas customers. When it comes to the location of the site, Newport is our home and where Tiny Rebel all began – so it is only right that we invest in the city as we grow our business.”

Tiny Rebel also has bars in High Steet in Newport and Westgate Street in Cardiff.
