Brewhouse & Kitchen is continuing its expansion after taking on two new sites including the former premises of cocktail bar The Beagle in Hoxton in London.

With 19 sites already open for the brewpub group, it plans to refurbish the two arches next to Hoxton Overground station to begin trading – and brewing – from mid July. The Beagle was launched in 2013 by Danny and Kieran Clancy but closed earlier this year.

The company is also acquiring the freehold of a former pub site, more recently Japanese restaurant Wabi, in Horsham in West Sussex on the corner of East Street and Denne Road.

Brewhouse & Kitchen plans to invest about £400,000 in the Horsham site over the next 10 weeks to install a craft brewery and tank beer system ahead of opening in early August.

Kate Dowd from leisure property specialist Fleurets, which acted for Brewhouse & Kitchen, said: “This former pub will be taken back as a traditional brewhouse and will enhance this busy central leisure circuit within Horsham.”

Founded in 2011 by Kris Gumbrell and Simon Bunn, Brewhouse & Kitchen brings together food, spirits and wines with an in-house microbrewery producing beers unique to each area. It opened its most recent site in Milton Keynes in April.
