Bristol Syrup Company’s, Dee Davies, shares her perfect summer serve!

The summer holidays are the perfect time to get creative with cocktails and one of my best-loved is the Raspberry Shrub Float. It’s a triple threat – fun, fruity and refreshing plus it can easily be made alcohol-free to be enjoyed by everyone! Raspberry Shrub is a great addition to drinks menus. As with all of our syrups, made by bartenders for bartenders, flavour is key to ensure cocktails get the quality ingredients they deserve. Our syrups are more than just sweet, they are balanced with citrus, salt and with our shrubs, vinegar to give mixed drinks extra depth and flavour. But Raspberry Shrub is a particular favourite of mine because it reminds me of picking raspberries in the garden and freezing them in apple juice to make ice-lollies. The Raspberry Shrub Float is an evolution of that child-hood recipe. Sweet, jammy raspberry mixes beautifully with tart cider vinegar, ginger ale for a touch of spice and a splash of lemon juice to balance it out. Add some vodka to make it ‘grown-up’ and garnish with a scoop of raspberry sorbet for nostalgia. The ideal serve for when summer decides to show its face again!
