Drinks entrepreneur and former bartender Alex Kammerling has appointed a new UK distributor to help develop his spirits brand Kamm & Sons.

After launching the British aperitif in 2011, Alex has teamed up with Love Drinks, a leading importer and distributor of craft spirits including El Dorado rum, Goslings rum, Four Pillars gin and Mr Black coffee liqueur.

With plans to extend the brand with Mr Kamm’s London dry gin, Alex hopes to take Kamm & Sons onto the next stage of growth, building on its popularity with bartenders for cocktails and in aperitif-style drinks.

He said: “I am thrilled to be working with Kirsty and the team at Love Drinks. Kamm & Sons sits perfectly in their premium portfolio and I look forward to exciting years ahead.”

Kirsty Loveday, co-founder, CEO and CHO (chief happiness officer) of Love Drinks, added: “We have always been committed to working with the best of the best, sharing their journey and their reason why they do what they do.

“Championing a brave industry professional whose entrepreneurial spirit drove him to create an incredibly unique and high-quality British product in a category which is growing in recognition, and supporting its development through innovation and education, mirrors how we like to nurture our brands. We look forward to supporting Alex through this next phase of Kamm & Sons’ success.”

Kamm & Sons is, at the heart, a ginseng spirit with a uniquely British offering alongside a market full of Italian aperitivos. It combines 45 natural ingredients, inspired by the historical use of alcohol as a medicine.

At 33% ABV, it can already be found behind the bars at the likes of The Langham, The London Edition and Dandelyan at Mondrian in London.
