Britvic brings back glittering variant as part of J2O push

J2O Glitterberry

Britvic Soft Drinks has brought back its limited-edition J2O that adds seasonal sparkle for Christmas alongside broader activity for the brand in the on-trade.

Returning for a fourth year, J2O Glitter Berry is a blend of grape, cherry and a hint of spice plus edible gold glitter.

It is being rolled out with new packaging exclusive to the on-trade: a gold and transparent full sleeve that allows consumers to see the glitter-filled liquid through the bottle, creating visual impact in the chiller.

The launch coincides with the brand’s latest marketing campaign including TV, experiential activity, geographically targeted text messages linked to Glitter Berry stockists, and digital and social media.

Britvic will also be investing in trade engagement for J2O through perfect serve training and incentives. Covering cocktails and simple mixed drinks, the free training is supplied via in partnership with Flow Hospitality Training.

Jonathan Gatward, GB marketing director at Britvic Soft Drinks, said: “We’ve designed this year’s limited edition to really stand out, and the blend itself is perfect for consumers looking for a seasonal drink.

“This limited edition creates excitement for soft drinks at the right time of year, giving consumers who want a soft drink or a mixed drink inspiration to try something new.”

The J2O portfolio is experiencing strong consumer demand with two variants in the top 10 packaged soft drinks sold in the leisure channel, according to on-trade research specialist CGA.

Jonathan added: “Publicans and licensees looking for ways to widen their soft drinks offering should look at adult soft drinks such as J2O Glitter Berry as it can be served alone or with other products as a mixer. It’s a real opportunity to maximise seasonal sales.”
