Monthly American whiskey master classes are to be introduced at a London hotel bar in collaboration with leading brand Buffalo Trace.

TwoRuba (pictured), the sophisticated bar and lounge at the Hilton London Tower Bridge hotel in Tooley Street, is to run the events on the first Wednesday of each month from March 6.

Starting at 6.30pm, they will take people through the different styles of American whiskey, focusing on bourbon. Tickets at £20 per person will include two cocktails and free canapés alongside a full tasting master class.

Guests will be able to taste five different whiskeys from Buffalo Trace, which dates back nearly 250 years, with canapés chosen to complement the spirits’ flavours.

As well as the flagship Buffalo Trace bourbon, it will include the young unaged White Dog and the premium Eagle Rare 10 Year Old.

Also included will be the full-bodied Ridgemont Reserve 1792, containing more rye than other bourbons and aged in new, charred oak barrels for eight years, and the uncut and unfiltered George T Stagg Jr, made in very small batches and aged closer to nine years.

The master class will end with a buttery, richly spiced Old Fashioned made with one of the Buffalo Trace whiskeys, which are distributed in the UK by Hi-Spirits.

Tickets can be booked on 020 3002 4407 or email info@tworuba.com.

TwoRuba was launched last summer after a £500,000 refurbishment of the hotel’s bar.
