Buffalo Trace bourbons have taken up residence in a Surrey bar with a week-long programme of tastings, master classes and other events.

Craft & Grill in Walton-on-Thames, part of Foundation Inns, is offering its customers the chance to learn more about the US whiskeys, including pairing bourbons with barbecue and grill food.

Running until this Sunday (November 30), the programme has been developed by the brand’s UK distributor, Hi-Spirits. It includes adding bourbon to the bar’s existing events such as its popular Tuesday poker night.

On Thursday (November 27), the bar’s regular quiz night will include a special 10-question round on a bourbon theme, with Buffalo Trace prizes up for grabs for the winning team and Buffalo Trace tasters served during the quiz.

Other events include a Buffalo Trace Bourbon master class on Wednesday (November 26) including a tutored tasting of a range of whiskeys and a chance to learn about the history of the brand and the distillery.

On Friday (November 28), the bar will host The Bourbon Cocktail Party, including two free cocktail-making master classes during the evening.

Across the weekend of November 29 and 30, there will be special deals on Buffalo Trace cocktails.

Foundation Inns co-founder Ian Grundy said: “Bourbon plays a big part in the US barbecue culture so Buffalo Trace fits right into the authentic feel of Craft & Grill. The new format has proved very popular since we opened at the end of August.

“The week-long Buffalo Trace residency will give more customers the chance to find out what we have to offer, as well as enjoying some award-winning bourbons and great cocktails. We are very excited about the residency.”
