London restaurant and bar Café Pacifico has begun celebrating in the lead-up to National Margarita Day on Monday February 22.

In partnership with 1800 Tequila, the Mexican restaurant will be hosting a free Margarita Masterclass at 7.30pm on Monday. Guests will have the opportunity to taste the premium 1800 Tequila range, made from 100% blue agave, as well as finding out how to make the perfect Margarita.

The team at Cafe Pacifico have also created the 1800 Pinche Choco Margarita (pictured) – a light, dry, citrus and chocolate Margarita – for the celebration. This will be heading up a special Margarita menu running from Friday February 19 to Sunday February 28.

Cafe Pacifico, in Langley Street in Covent Garden, will also be running a two-for-one offer on its classic 1800 Tequila Blanco Margarita from February 19 to 22.

Other bars will be celebrating the annual celebration of the classic cocktail including B&H Buildings in Clerkenwell in London. Its activities will include an interactive Margarita Masterclass with Nicci Stringfellow, brand ambassador for Herradura Tequila, on Thursday February 25.

In Newcastle upon Tyne, Popolo is tonight offering a deal of two Margaritas for £10, made with Casco Viejo – the 100% agave tequila produced by the Camarena brothers, the third largest owners of agave plantations in Mexico.

Other bars offering promotions and special Margaritas with Casco Viejo today include Ten Feet Tall in Cardiff, Santa Chupito’s in Liverpool, El Capo in Manchester and Neon Cactus in Leeds, which has created a variation on a Tommy’s Margarita.

Barrio Bars in London uses Casco Viejo’s blanco tequila for its Margarita (pictured), shaken with fresh lime juice and agave nectar and served on the rocks – available at £5 all night long today.
