Captain Morgan is the no.1 driver of flavoured rum-based spirit innovation (CGA OPMS MAT P13 2020) and 39.7% of consumers expect to be served Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold when in a pub, bar or restaurant if they’ve asked for a rum-based spirit without specifying a brand (Kantar Worldpanel Sept 2021). With this in mind, we want to ensure that operators are able to leverage the brand recognition and create exciting seasonal serves for consumers this festive period.
The Captain Morgan Spiced Strawberry Daiquiri is a cocktail that can be enjoyed all year round and is a great way to offer spirit drinkers a premium option when spending time in the on trade this festive season. Combining Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold, lime juice and strawberry puree, this cocktail has a sweet flavour profile and taps into the celebratory cocktail trend.
About the cocktail
A delicious mix of strawberries, spiced rum, lime and garnished with fresh strawberries – this cocktail could be a popular choice amongst customers.
The strawberry puree is easy for bartenders to create by blending some frozen strawberries in advance. Create your own simple syrup, too, by heating up sugar and water on the hob until dissolved.
Glass: Martini/Coupe/Hurricane Strawberry
Ice: Straight up/crushed
50ml Captain Morgan Spiced Gold
25ml Lime juice
15ml Sugar syrup
5 fresh strawberries
Step-by-step picture guide
- Muddle the strawberries in a Boston glass
- Pour the Captain Morgan Spiced Gold
- Add the remaining ingredients, fill the shaker with ice and shake to mix
- Double strain into a chilled Martini/Coupe glass
- Garnish and serve with a strawberry
