Casita marks eight years with ‘startenders’ and Ocho cocktails

Casita Bar

London bar Casita is celebrating its eighth birthday with guest appearances by eight leading bartenders over eight days.

Beginning with a press party on August 6, the “startenders” will be serving cocktails made with Ocho tequila (Spanish for “eight”), rotating serves each hour, for eight hours from 3pm to 11pm for eight consecutive days.

The eight guest bartenders will include Jake Burger of London bar Portobello Star, Jim Wrigley of Made in the Shade, consultant Dan Warner, Claire Smith of Belvedere Vodka, Chris Dennis of London bar Trailer Happiness, Simon Toohey of Penkul & Banks in Shoreditch and Hannah Naughton of Burger & Lobster, plus Casita’s own Will Foster, Sophie Mackay and Oskar Klimaszewski.

Casita Bar in Ravey Street, Shoreditch, specialises in South American drinks and cocktails and has its own side-serve for tequila, the Verdita, made with coriander, mint, pineapple juice and fresh jalepenos.

One of the eight cocktails that will be served during the eight hours over the eight days is the Casita Birthday Cocktail, created by Will and made with Ocho, lime juice, grapefruit juice Ting, raspberries, jalapeno chilli and a handful of basil.
