Chefs will literally enjoy life on the “gravy train” when Knorr takes them to the Hospitality Show in Birmingham to promote the fact that its gravy is gluten-free.

Knorr has chartered a Virgin train on Monday January 19 to take 60 people to the trade exhibition which runs at NEC from January 19 to 21. They will travel in first-class style, enjoying breakfast and networking en route.

It follows the introduction in December of new Food Information Regulations that require staff working in bars, pubs and restaurants to know about the allergies and intolerances linked to food and drink on their menus, including gluten.

Leon Mills, marketing manager for Knorr, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming chefs aboard our train to what promises to be yet another fantastic line-up at The Hospitality Show.

“We know how demanding life in the kitchen is, especially with the added challenge of the new allergens legislation. Our Knorr Gravy is gluten free, has no added MSG and tastes great, meaning chefs can serve it safe in the knowledge that they are meeting requirements without compromising on taste.

“We believe everyone deserves the best and as a little something extra to celebrate, the ‘gravy train’ offers chefs the chance to sit back and relax, on us.”

To secure a ticket on the 8.23am from London Euston, chefs need to email their name, job title and place of work to thegravytrain@williammurray.co.uk, or call Emma on 020 8256 1360 or tweet @KnorrTaste with the hash tag #GravyTrain. The first 60 chefs to register by 9am on Friday January 16 January will receive a ticket.
