London bar and restaurant Sake No Hana is celebrating the arrival of spring and the Japanese cherry blossom season with a pop-up garden.
The bar in St James’s Street has been transformed into Sakura at Sake No Hana until May 19, with a spectacular display of pink cherry blossom filling the space from floor to ceiling.
It is also offering a limited-edition list of cherry blossom sake cocktails, bento boxes and desserts.
The pop-up cherry blossom garden has been developed with renowned florist Veevers Carter, taking inspiration from “sakura” blossom and “hanami”, the centuries-old Japanese tradition of celebrating the fleeting blossom season.
Limited-edition cocktails, priced £10, include the Hanami Bellini, made with sparkling sake, Luxardo cherry liqueur, Cherry Heering liqueur, lime juice and Tanqueray gin.
The Sakuratini cocktail mixes maraschino cherry liqueur with sake, vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, lime juice and orange bitters.
Also available are Sakura Cherry Iced Tea, made with marasca cherries, jasmine tea and lime, and a pot of sakura tea, made from the leaves of cherry blossom trees.
As well as a special bento box, food includes cherry blossom macarons, made with vanilla and cherry blossom tea ganache.
