A limited edition of Cîroc vodka has been produced in collaboration with leading photographer Mario Testino to celebrate the release of the sequel to classic comedy Zoolander.
The bottle is coloured a bespoke blue with a hint of iridescence inspired by the “Blue Steel” pose made famous by the male supermodel lead character, Derek Zoolander, played by Ben Stiller (pictured).
It continues an existing involvement with the brand by Mario, who is noted for his portraits of celebrities and fashion. He is creative director for the Cîroc “On Arrival” campaign, which has seen him pick emerging talent and showcase their “arrival moments”.
The Blue Steel bottle is available in the standard 70cl format as well as a 1.75cl bottle for exclusive bars. Mario has also helped to design a three-litre collector’s Blue Steel bottle that “encapsulates Testino and Zoolander’s love for celebration”.
Zoolander 2 is Paramount Pictures’ sequel to the cult classic film Zoolander that came out in 2001. The new movie, with a star-studded cast, opens in cinemas in the US and the UK on February 12.

Mario said: “Working with Cîroc on the creation of the special-edition bottle was a really interesting experience for me. We have been working on the ‘On Arrival’ campaign for over a year so we wanted to create something that fitted in with the spirit of the brand and the campaign.
“The Cîroc blue is a consistent colour throughout all shoot creative and ‘Blue Steel’ is of course Zoolander’s iconic pose, so that, together with the bottle design married seamlessly.
“The final bottle is something that stands out as both iconic and fun in the stable of Cîroc products.”
