City of London Bar and London Bartenders Association Launch ‘Snapper Sundays’

City of London Bar, the new home of Whitley Neill Gin, has teamed up with the London Bartender’s Association to host a series of special trade events called ‘Snapper Sundays’.

The series will be kicking off on 8th August, and running on the first Sunday of each month thereafter. Designed exclusively for bartenders across the UK, the sessions will include a special ‘Gin Off’ competition where representatives from some of the country’s best bars will be firing up the mini stills at the distillery’s own gin lab, and fighting it out to be crowned the Gin Champion.

Whilst the attendees are given the chance to taste and judge the competing gins, there will also be a lively debate session in which guests are able to weigh in on some of the biggest issues and controversial topics that are facing the hospitality industry at the moment.

William Borrell from the City of London Bar comments; “It’s great that we have a brand new home for Whitley Neill gin, and now that we’re fully back up and running again we wanted to open our doors for those working in UK hospitality – show them what we’ve been up to and provide a really engaging and ultimately fun session for people to enjoy, after what has been an incredibly tough year”.

Drew Mallins from the London Bartenders Association comments; “We’re pleased to be working alongside the team at the City of London Distillery and Bar on this really exciting concept – and are keen to encourage bartenders to come along to this fantastic, informal session which will not only be a really interesting learning experience, but also a chance to reconnect with those in the industry and have a good time too”.

‘Snapper Sundays’ are kicking off on the 8th August, doors will be open from 2.30pm (with a welcome drink on arrival). The session will include the tasting of the competing gins and casual debate, followed by cocktails. Last orders at 8pm. To sign up for the event (which is completely free of charge), visit
