A new intimate cocktail bar with an adjoining liquor store is coming to Kingsland Rd in Shoreditch this month.
Launching late February, TT Liquor is a venue set across three floors, which will host a liquor store and a cocktail bar.
The latest project from Alastair Tatton and Stephen Thompson will see the venue host TT Liquor’s signature cocktail making classes and events and there will be padlocked deposit boxes available for hire, allowing guests to keep private liquor collections at the venue.
The store will stock difficult to get hold of bottles and curated gift sets containing glassware, equipment and spirits used to make various classic cocktails or personalised favourites.
Everything stocked in the liquor store will also be available to enjoy in the subterranean cocktail bar at a special “drink-in” price. Regulars will be encouraged to create their own private liquor collection in one of the many deposit boxes, accessible each time they visit.
With space for 120 guests, the bar will showcase important eras throughout the history of cocktails. The menu comprises of four different journeys each consisting of four cocktails embodying a dedicated era. Expert mixologists will explain the history of each cocktail, its relationship to other classic cocktails, and give an analysis of its ingredients and flavours. Cocktails are accompanied by small plates of food, selected to complement the specific characteristics of each drink.
Historic jail cells housed within the bar (remnants from the building’s use as a police station in the 19th Century) will be atmospheric alcoves hosting tasting experiences including classes on whisky, rum, gin, plus local and worldwide beers. Each vault can house 10 to 15 guests at a time, with the same tasting experiences for larger groups offered in the upstairs lounges.
