Cocktails paired with Italian sorbet at summertime bar

Black Vanilla Group Shot

Cocktails paired with Italian sorbets are on the menu at a new bar that has opened above a renowned gelateria in Greenwich in London.

Food and drink specialist World of Zing has created Grown-Ups, an intimate bar above Black Vanilla which has won awards for its Italian-style ice cream and “sorbetti”.

Cocktails on the pairing menu include a Bordeaux Barrel Aged Negroni made with Tanqueray Gin, Campari, Martini Rosso and Zing Serenity Bitters, served with Sicilian Lemon Sorbetto.

The Steel Aged Manhattan combines Bulleit Rye whiskey with Martini Rosso, Zing Anaesthetic Brandy and Zing Euphoric Bitters, paired with Black Cherry Sorbetto.

Blackberry & Tamarind Rum Punch, made with Pink Pigeon Vanilla Spiced Rum, honey and camomile water, is matched with Mango Sorbetto. World of Zing’s Persian Lime & Nori Seaweed Margarita, using Ocho tequila as its base, is paired with Kiwi Sorbetto.

World of Zing and Black Vanilla have also collaborated on what is believed to be the world’s first aged Negroni sorbet which, at 6% ABV, is made with World of Zing’s award-winning bottled Negroni. It is available for £4 per scoop.

Black Vanilla’s full range of gelato, sorbetti and other sweet treats are also available in Grown-Ups alongside the cocktails.

The upstairs bar offers cosy seating, atmospheric lighting and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows with views across Greenwich Park. Located in College Approach, it is open from midday to midnight Friday to Sunday throughout the summer.

World of Zing offers a range of produce and ingredients including cocktails crafted in small batches in east London using premium spirits, bespoke bitters and handmade liqueurs.
