Bars and restaurants across the UK are set to offer events, special menus and cocktails to celebrate International Sherry Week this week.
Running from November 2 to 8, it features venues such as Red Light and Pata Negra in Bristol, The Ginger Pig in Hove in East Sussex, Common Bar in Manchester, Bar 44 in south Wales, Friends of Ham in Ilkley in West Yorkshire, Roja Pinchos in Liverpool, and Café Andaluz in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
In London, participating bars and restaurants include Drakes Tabanco, Copita Tapas Bar, Tapas Revolution, Meson Don Felipe, Barrica Tapas, Bar Pepito, Opera Tavern and Galvin La Chapelle. For details of all events, visit www.sherry.org.
With events taking place all over the world, International Sherry Week was created to promote sherry for pairing with food and using in cocktails as well as to educate people about the wine. It is supported by social media including Twitter tastings with the hashtag #SherryTT.
Run by the regulatory authority for the DO Jerez-Xerex-Sherry and Manzanilla-Sanlucar de Barrameda denomination, it follows the launch of a new website at www.sherry.org.
