Crabbie’s has followed the launch of its blend of ginger beer and IPA with the introduction of another beer – a ginger-infused stout.
It has again partnered Midlands brewer Sadler’s, combining its Mud City Stout with the fiery kick of Crabbie’s alcoholic ginger beer, bottling the new brew at 4.2% ABV.
Boasting rich, roasted nutty notes from the dark malts, Crabbie’s Stout has a spicy finish from the ginger that is steeped for six weeks to make the original ginger beer.
It has initially been launched in 500ml bottles, only weeks after brand owner Halewood Wines & Spirits introduced Crabbie’s IPA with Sadler’s. Both are part of The Crafty Ginger Collection.
The stout also showcases the brand’s new distinctive packaging design, which dials up Crabbie’s’ craftsmanship credentials. The Crafty Ginger Collection, which also includes Crabbie’s Original and Crabbie’s Raspberry, uses a bold colour mix of green/gold, pink/gold, blue/gold and black/gold across the range to support clear navigation between variants.
Anja Weise-O’Connor, senior marketing manager for Crabbie’s, said: “We can see from market data and industry trends that darker beers, such as stouts, are expected to see a bit of a renaissance as part of the craft beer category growth.
“We’ve delivered an exceptional and intriguing liquid at just the right time, that we believe can tap into this anticipated movement in the market.
“Crabbie’s has always been about an unconventional approach to drinks making, one that champions quality ingredients, true craftsmanship and a daring nature on what’s possible, and our new stout continues to support these beliefs which remain at the heart of the brand.”
