Cranes Drinks rolls out Premium Apple Cider

British drinks producer Cranes is targeting the UK on-trade with its latest launch – Cranes Premium Apple Cider.

The traditional variant, which joins Cranes’ three flavoured ciders – Blueberries & Apples, Cranberries & Limes and Raspberries & Pomegranates – is made using 100% fresh juice from British apples, which are picked and pressed on the same day to deliver a “naturally crisp” and “refreshing” cider.

Cranes Premium Apple Cider (4.8% ABV) will be available on draught and in 500ml bottles. The company, which is founded by twin brothers Ben and Dan Ritsema, hopes to make an impression within the on-trade and at festivals.

Dan said: “We have been asked a lot if we produce a traditional apple cider, so this got us thinking. We wanted to create something which was completely natural, following on from our range of naturally light fruit ciders.

“We then began developing our apple cider which uses 100% fresh juice, as soon as the juice is pressed it goes straight into the tanker and is fermented naturally, the way we believe the Romans – the inventors of cider – intended.”

Ben added: “We have been busy developing our premium apple cider to ensure we have created the most natural product possible, as consumers are demanding a more premium and natural taste.

“We have therefore handcrafted a cider which doesn’t add any yeast or refined sugars, keeping the process as simple and natural as it should be. We have also ensured that our cider is suitable for vegans and gluten-free.”

Alongside its ciders, Cranes Drinks also produces a Cranberry Gin and Cranberry & Blood Orange Liqueur.
