CWF bolsters its Italian beer portfolio with Birradamare range

Na Biretta Rossa

Yorkshire based wine importer and alcoholic drinks manufacturer CWF has added five Italian lagers and ales from Roman brewer Birradamare to its range.

Located in Fiumicino in the province of Rome, Birradamare uses mainly barley sown and grown in its own fields in the Roman countryside to produce its beers. It is committed to using carefully selected regional ingredients and strict craft methods in the production of its range whilst also minimising its environmental impact.

The Birradamare range includes classic blonde and red beers, with organic options and Seasonals, incorporating seasonal ingredients such as artichokes and chestnuts.

The five Birradamare varietals now available from CWF are Na Biretta Chiara, Na Biretta Rossa, Birra Roma Bionda, Dammenipa, and La Zia Ale.

Na Biretta Chiara is a light 4.9% ABV lager, produced using raw ingredients to give it a good bitter content, a marked scent of hops and a straw yellow colour.

The second beer, Na Biretta Rossa (pictured) is a 6.3% ABV red, double malt, deep amber-coloured beer with a clear, soft and enveloping body with a strong toasted malt flavour and compact, creamy froth.

At 5.2% ABV, Birra Roma Bionda is a deep blonde beer that has all the characteristics of a classic lager but with a more pronounced body and aroma, thanks to the addition of special pale malts and aromatic hops to the basic recipe.

Dammenipa is a slightly bitter 5% ABV hoppy ale with a nose full of herbs, flowers and delicate malty tones.

The last addition to the Birradamare range, La Zia Ale, is a 5.5% ABV pale ale infused with rosemary and artichoke.

Amy Giacobbi, marketing manager at CWF, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our on-trade customers this selection of Italian beers from Birradamare’s well-respected brewery.

“Italian beers are synonymous with quality and the Birradamare range also offers some unique options that will appeal to customers both wanting to try something new and that enjoy beer as an accompaniment to a meal.”

All Birradamare beers are available in cases of 12x 33cl bottles.
