D&D teams up with Konik’s Tale for competition

koniks tail pleurat shabaniBartenders from across leading bar and restaurant group D&D will come together for a competition run with boutique vodka Konik’s Tail.

Open to all D&D employees, it is being launched on January 14 at the group’s stylish South Place Hotel in the City of London with a masterclass led by the brand’s founder and creator Pleurat Shabani (pictured).

The final will be held on January 20 at The Old Bengal Warehouse, where entrants will be challenged to create new cocktails using Konik’s Tail.

Each cocktail will be awarded points for appearance, creativity, taste, overall impression. Entrants will need to explain the story behind their cocktail and answer questions about Konik’s Tail.

The winner will receive a bespoke Konik’s Tail copper still, a free night’s stay at South Place Hotel and a personalised pair of Konik’s Tail Converse Trainers.

The winning cocktail will also be available for guests at South Place Hotel for a limited time alongside the bar’s seasonal cocktail menu.

The judges will include D&D chairman and chief executive Des Gunewardena and TV presenter Rebecca Seal.

Konik’s Tail is produced in limited quantities according to traditional Polish methods by Pleurat with master of the cellar Bernadeta Ejsmont.

D&D operates over 34 restaurants worldwide, mainly in London, such as Coq d’Argent, Carom, Floridita, Le Pont de la Tour, Orrery, Plateau, Quaglino’s and Skylon. Last year, it began expanding nationally with the opening of Angelica in Leeds.
