The Deltic Group, the UK’s largest nightclub operator, is to transform its club in Canterbury in Kent into a new late-night bar concept.
Steinbeck & Shaw will open in St George’s Place in the premises of Chill in September after an investment of £150,000. It will create 20 new jobs.
Depicted here with computer-generated images, it will be a stylish venue with a stripped-back, raw and contemporary feel that exploits the existing architecture. The bar will offer an extensive range of premium spirits, fresh cocktails and craft beers.
Steinbeck & Shaw is described as primarily “a great place to party” and will have 21 pre-bookable booths, tables and private areas. With a team of hosts and hostesses, it is promising “outstanding” levels of customer service.
As part of its premium offer, customers will have the option to upgrade to “S&S+”, the venue’s VIP party experience. Packages will include fast-track entry, free cloakroom check-in and dedicated service in a private party area.
The bar will play an eclectic mix of high-energy party music, floor-filling vocal dance tunes and commercial chart-topping R ‘n’ B.
It will specialise in organising “memorable” birthday experiences with a team of professional party bookers in place to create a personal big night out, with options including cocktail master classes.
The Deltic Group’s regional director Martin Winter said: “The launch of Steinbeck & Shaw in Canterbury is part of our strategy to constantly evolve our customer offer so that we exceed customer expectations. It’s something completely different from venues within our existing portfolio with an edgier, stripped-back feel.”
Chill is due to close after the August bank holiday weekend.
