The winning bars, pubs and clubs have been announced in the annual DesignMyNight awards for Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton and London.

The winners are based purely on a public vote with no shortlists, no editorial favourites, no industry favourites. This year was the biggest by far, attracting over 20,000 votes across the five cities.

It is part of DesignMyNight, one of the UK’s largest nightlife websites and booking portals, which attracts over 3.5m views per month.

Its team noted that the results showed a particular trend to venues that went that extra mile to please their customers, whether it be in the entertainment on offer or quirky cocktails.

They also highlighted the rise of bars offering a leisure activity, with darts destination Flight Club and ping-pong venue Bounce taking top London awards.

For the first time, the London awards also celebrated local businesses with categories across 18 different areas from Peckham to Notting Hill, with over 160 venues given accolades this year.

As a leading ticketing platform, the DesignMyNight awards also celebrated the best events and pop-ups in the UK cities.
