Diageo has announced the appointment of former bartender Tim Homewood as new UK brand ambassador for Tanqueray and Tanqueray No Ten gins.
Tim, who has been involved in the bar industry since the age of 16, has worked for some of the best bars in London including The Hospital Club in Covent Garden, the Arts Club in Dover Street and Babylon restaurant at Kensington Roof Gardens.
He was also brand ambassador for Jose Cuervo tequila, including the premium Tradicional, until the brand passed from Diageo to Proximo Spirits last summer.
Tim said: “Gin is an incredibly British spirit and more importantly it offers a fantastic canvas to create cocktails. Tanqueray is a cool, contemporary brand and it has a unique sense of heritage which I love.
“I feel very fortunate to be promoting such a well-respected brand at a time when gin is enjoying such a revival.
“I am excited to work on Tanqueray No Ten which is a fabulous, premium extension to the range and appeals to consumers looking for something really special.
“One of my favourite Tanqueray No Ten cocktails is the classic T10 Martini, but in this role I’m also keen to experiment with new creations that showcase the unique attributes of the liquid.
“I am looking forward to the new role and am privileged to be working alongside UK bartenders who are so passionate and knowledgeable, and dedicated to delivering the best possible customer experience.”
