Diageo-owned rum brand Captain Morgan is rolling out a tropical rum-based spirit drink for summer.
Available in 70cl format, Captain Morgan Tiki is inspired by the adventures of the Captain through the South Pacific Islands. It is bottled at 25% ABV and “packed with pineapple and mango flavours”.
The launch of the new variant is set to capitalise on the growing trend for lighter coloured mixers, such as lemonade, and will be supported by a £1.5m marketing investment. An embossed bottle has also been designed to “bring the Tiki concept to life”.
Nick Payman, head of Captain Morgan Europe, said: “We know our customers are looking to experiment and try different spirit taste combinations. Captain Morgan Tiki offers something completely new to consumers.”
Last year the brand launched a limited edition gingerbread-flavoured spiced rum for Christmas.
