Diageo Reserve World Class GB is launching a series of brand ambassador social media takeovers, designed to educate, inspire and entertain the on-trade and consumers whilst spending time at home.
Launching on Wednesday 25 March, 12 brand ambassadors for Diageo’s premium spirits brands will take over the World Class GB and Diageo Bar Academy social media pages.
Brand ambassadors taking part include Ali Reynolds of Johnnie Walker, Christie Knight of Villa Ascenti gin, Adam McGurk of Belsazar vermouth and Kate Jackson of Ketel One vodka.
Each day, a Diageo Reserve brand ambassador will host three short videos, showcasing cocktail recipes using items they have available in the home, and focusing on developing skills and techniques such as creating homemade syrups, cordials and more.
Jason Clark, World Class and Talisker GB brand ambassador, said: “Our team of GB brand ambassadors are usually out and about, visiting various bar teams.
“Faced with this unusual amount of time at home on our hands, we wanted to put this time to good use and reach out to the bartending community to inspire and educate so that people can stay in touch on social media and learn new skills whilst out of the usual bar environment.
“A few of the team have some extra skills up their sleeve too – so you might see some added content away from the usual cocktail videos, to keep everyone entertained. We’re all in this together!”
Jason will be kicking off the series, launching at 1pm on Instagram and Facebook. A new bartender will take over these platforms each day.
The launch of Drinks at Home follows Diageo’s announcement to postpone the 2020 World Class Global Finals in Sydney until 2021. This also applies to all local finals. The series has been created to “keep the spirit of World Class and the celebration of great cocktails going for GB”.
