LONDON, 17 September 2026 — Diisco, a UK hospitality staffing platform connecting venues with workers for individual shifts, has won Gold in the Innovation Challenge 2026 at The National Restaurant, Pub & Bar Show in London.
Diisco was selected by buyers attending the show as one of the event’s innovative products, securing a place in the Innovation Challenge Live Final. Following a live presentation of the platform, Diisco was awarded Gold.
The platform enables restaurants, pubs, bars and other hospitality businesses to post individual shifts, review applications, communicate with workers and select who they want to hire. Workers can use Diisco to discover available hospitality shifts and apply for opportunities that suit them.
By enabling venues and workers to connect directly, Diisco is designed to provide hospitality businesses with a flexible alternative for filling individual shifts. This is especially valuable given that a new survey reveals 89% of hotels struggle with staffing and operational efficiency.
Hasan Shahid, Director & Co-Founder of Diisco, said:
Winning Gold at the Innovation Challenge is a fantastic milestone for the entire Diisco team.
“Winning Gold at the Innovation Challenge is a fantastic milestone for the entire Diisco team. We built Diisco to give hospitality businesses a simpler and more flexible way to manage shift staffing, and being recognised at such an important industry event is incredibly encouraging.
“This award reinforces our belief that technology can create a more direct and efficient way for hospitality businesses and workers to connect.”
Alex Temprell, Director & Co-Founder of Diisco, said:
“We are incredibly proud to receive Gold at the Innovation Challenge. Diisco was created to make it easier for venues to respond when they need additional shift cover, while giving hospitality workers greater access to flexible opportunities.
“The response from hospitality professionals at the show has been fantastic, and we’re looking forward to building on that momentum as Diisco continues to grow.”
Diisco currently supports hospitality businesses and workers across London, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle, with the company continuing to develop the platform and expand its presence across the UK.
The Gold award follows Diisco’s participation at The National Restaurant, Pub & Bar Show, where the company demonstrated its platform to hospitality operators, buyers and other industry professionals.
