Dima’s Beetroot Mary and Sgroppino

The Sgroppino cocktail, despite becoming the TikTok trend of the moment, has been a staple in Italian culture for hundreds of years, served to Venetian nobility as a palate cleanser between courses. It epitomises the very best of the country, enjoyed on all occasions – beautifully refreshing and cooling on a hot summer’s evening.

Whether a relaxing afternoon in the garden, a refined summer cocktail party, or an after-dinner refresher, one sip provides an instant sense of Italian escapism, transporting the drinker straight to the Amalfi coast.

 This version is made with the finest ingredients – smooth triple grain Dima’s Vodka, and The Emissary Prosecco DOC Treviso Spumante Extra-Brut, a light, dry, fine prosecco, that counteracts the sweet sharpness of the lemon sorbet.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon of lemon sorbet

2 teaspoons of Dima’s Vodka

The Emissary Prosecco DOC to top

Method:

Scoop the lemon sorbet into a coupe. Pour over the vodka, then top with the prosecco.

24th August 2021 marks 30 years since Ukraine’s declaration of independence from the Soviet Union, a day of great joy in the country. Celebrations in the country begin early, as Ukrainians sip on vodka – the national drink of choice – and enjoy traditional foods, including borsch, pickles, cheese, and vareniky (a type of dumpling).

 This cocktail from Dima’s Vodka incorporates three of Ukraine’s classic ingredients for an authentically Ukrainian twist on the conventional Bloody Mary; vodka, beetroot and as with most Ukrainian drinks, a crunchy pickle!

The Beetroot Mary also contains many familiar favourites such as Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce, and is garnished with dill. As well as being a celebratory nod to Ukraine on Independence Day, it’s also a great hangover cure alongside a Sunday Roast, or just for those wanting a punchy and enriching savoury cocktail.

Ingredients:

50ml of Dima’s Vodka

2 dashes Worcestershire sauce

3 dashes Tabasco (adjust for extra spice)

½ teaspoon of horseradish

5-10ml pickle brine

Salt & pepper

20ml beetroot juice

Tomato juice to finish

Method:

Build in a highball glass and garnish with a sprig of dill and a slice of pickle
