Robert Birnecker, the master distiller and founder of Koval Distillery in Chicago, is heading to the UK to lead masterclasses for bartenders with new distributor Emporia Brands.
The team will visit London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow to launch the Koval range which includes the American whiskey expressions of Millet, Rye and Bourbon as well as their dry gin.
Robert will be visiting the UK from April 18, hosting a masterclass at Mash London in Soho from 4pm to 6pm.
He will be in Edinburgh on April 19 to visit Bramble for his second masterclass, co-hosted with Royal Mile Whiskies. A consumer dinner is also planned at Edinburgh bar The Hanging Bat, involving a three-course meal matched with Koval cocktails.
On April 20, Robert will present the whiskeys at The Finnieston in Glasgow in conjunction with Glasgow Bartenders Club. He will then head to Manchester for his final masterclass at Cottonopolis on April 21.
To round off his visit, Robert will be at Harvey Nichols in London on April 22 to launch the range into the luxury store.
Founded in 2008 by Robert and Sonat Birnecker, Koval produces organic whiskeys, liqueurs and specialty spirits in Chicago’s first distillery since the mid-1800s.
