Drake & Morgan to open bar at Heathrow airport

Leading operator Drake & Morgan is to open a bar and restaurant at Heathrow’s Terminal 4, specialising in cocktails alongside all-day dining.

Due to open this summer, The Commission is a joint venture with global hospitality and food service provider Delaware North.

It will be located airside in the terminal, covering 4,800 square feet with 170 covers, open every day from first to last flight.

Like other Drake & Morgan sites, it will be designed by Fusion Design & Architecture, with a format to suit airport travellers. It is pictured above as a computer-generated image.

With a focus on seasonality, provenance and sustainability, the menu will offer the group’s signature all-day menu, from breakfast and brunch through to lunch and supper, coffees and cocktails.

In addition, it will offer a grab-and-go format for passengers who like to have an “on-board picnic” when they fly.

Drake & Morgan managing director Jillian MacLean said: “Our all-day bar and dining format is ideal for transport hubs and we are working closely with Delaware North to deliver a fresh new concept designed specifically to appeal to travellers, from business passengers through to families.”

Doug Tetley, managing director of Delaware North, added: “We are so excited to be working with Jillian and the team at Drake & Morgan. I am confident that The Commission with its unique offer that ranges from breakfast through to cocktails will appeal to the wide cross-section of travellers arriving at Terminal 4,”

Heathrow’s head of food and beverage, Ben Crowley, said: “Drake & Morgan is an incredibly exciting brand and I am delighted to welcome them to Heathrow.

“We have been keen to expand the bar concepts available at Heathrow for some time and this proposal will provide a real point of difference for Terminal 4 with a quintessentially British touch.”

Drake & Morgan operates bars across London including The Refinery at Bankside, The Parlour at Canary Wharf, The Refinery at Regent’s Place and four in the City: The Happenstance, The Folly, The Anthologist and The Fable. The group’s flagship site Drake & Morgan at King’s Cross opened in autumn last year, with a new bar in development for Edinburgh.
