Drake & Morgan has revealed that its 22nd venue will be The Allegory, due to open in October in the Principal Place development in Shoreditch on the edge of the City of London.

The new bar will be on the ground floor of Brookfield’s 600,000 sq ft mixed-use office, residential and retail space in Bishopsgate which is already home to internet retailer Amazon’s new headquarters.

Designed by Fusion Design & Architecture, the 6,337 sq ft space in Worship Street will include a large bar and separate dining area providing a total of 145 covers, with an outside terrace seating an additional 86.

Industrial foundations will be complemented by carefully curated touches including eye-catching street art, geometric flooring and feature light fixtures, echoing Drake & Morgan’s unique style. It is pictured above and below as computer-generated images.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Allegory’s extensive menu will feature stylish small plates, sharing boards, superfood salads and substantial mains.

Like Drake & Morgan’s other venues, the extensive drinks list will include a wide range of wines and champagnes, premium spirits, craft beers and creative cocktails and mocktails.

Managing director Jillian MacLean said: “Principal Place, ‘The Un Square Mile’, on the edge of Shoreditch is an exciting new scheme in the heart of London’s tech community. The City of London is Drake & Morgan’s heartland and Principal Place, with its public piazza and buzzing location, is a landmark development and we are looking forward to The Allegory being a central part of it.”

As previously announced, Drake & Morgan will open two more bars and restaurants before the end of this year, one in the City’s new Cannon Green building and the other in St Peter’s Square in Manchester.

Drake & Morgan has 21 bars and restaurants across London, Manchester and Edinburgh including Drake & Morgan at Kings Cross, The Refinery at Bankside, The Parlour at Canary Wharf, The Refinery Regent’s Place and eight City sites including The Folly, The Anthologist, The Drift and The Fable.

The group has most recently opened The Bothy in West India Quay in London’s Docklands and, after buying Corney & Barrow Bars in July 2016, it has opened The Happenstance on Paternoster Square, The Refinery on New Street Square and The Refinery CityPoint.
