A limited-edition 10-year-old single malt has been released for The Dubliner Irish Whiskey after the brand’s launch in the UK last year.

With ABV of 42%, it is made from 100% malted barley and distilled in copper pot stills and matured in oak casks that previously held Kentucky bourbon.

Produced by The Dublin Whiskey Company through third-party distillers, The Dubliner Irish Whiskey was launched in the UK at the end of last year by Quintessential Brands Group.

Along with the company’s other whiskeys, it will start to be made in Dublin in 2017 at a new distillery being built by The Dublin Whiskey Company, which was bought by Quintessential Brands in April.

Sinead O’ Frighil, Irish whiskies marketing manager at Quintessential Brands, said: “We are delighted to be introducing this limited-edition expression to The Dubliner range. It is well known that the growth of Irish whiskeys is at an exciting stage and we have high hopes for our approachable and smooth 10-year-old single malt in domestic and travel retail markets internationally – it’s a beautiful whiskey!

“The Dubliner Irish Whiskey has had an incredible start launching at Dublin Airport last year and sales to date in Ireland, Australia and the USA have been really encouraging.”

According to Quintessential Brands’ tasting notes, The Dubliner 10 Year Old is characterful and complex on the nose, with a sweet, slightly spicy aroma with overtones of vanilla, honey and perfume notes.

On the palate, it has a rich, malty flavour with a smoothness and warmth and a hint of chocolate and vanilla coming through. It has a long smooth, slightly dry finish with hints of toffee, chocolate and vanilla at the end.

It has a recommended price in retail of £50 for 70cl. The Dubliner Irish Whiskey is distributed in the UK through Quintessential Brands’ Marblehead Brand Development.
