A pop-up bar inspired by a Dutch kitchen has opened in Liverpool in a collaboration with premium Dutch vodka Ketel One.

Located in Seel Street, Keuken has been launched by Matthew Farrell and John Ennis of operator Graffiti Spirit which also operates venues such as Santa Chupitos, El Bandito and Salt Dog Slims.

It features drinks made with Ketel One vodka as well as genever, the Dutch predecessor to gin. The bar, whose name is Dutch for “kitchen”, has been developed with Ketel One owner Diageo.

It has been designed as a relaxed place to chill out, with dim lighting, dark wood and vintage-style chesterfield couches.

Keuken has been created above Graffiti Spirit’s venue 81Ltd in a private-hire space, accessed via intercom entry, at 83 Seel Street between Salt Dog Slims and Slims Pork Chop Express.

Matthew said: “The bar takes its inspiration from the infamous brown bars of Holland, which gets its name from years of smoking regulars staining the walls.”

Keuken, which opened earlier this month, runs until February 29. It is open Mondays to Wednesdays from 6pm to 2am.
