East London Pub Co is opening the doors to its newest venue The Gun, located on the south side of Spitalfields market.
As part of its vision to breathe new life into the London pub scene, the operator has created a “character-rich space” which sets out to offer a modern-day pub experience built on traditional values.
Inspired by the area’s heritage of artillery factories and breweries, the new venue will launch in the same site as the old Victorian boozer of the same name but with a new fit out.
The pub will be split into three sections, suited to welcome guests as it transcends from day to night. Design highlights will include high ceilings, an expansive pewter bar counter with copper finishing and green marble, an open fire and a statement ‘gunshot’ glass installation, which will sit behind the bar, starting from the floor to the raised mezzanine level DJ booth.
Punters can expect an extensive beer selection, alongside premium wines, gins and craft spirits, as well as a dining menu comprising dishes made from locally sourced produce and ingredients, prepared under the guidance of executive chef Jimi Tegerdine.
Patrick Frawley, founder and owner of East London Pub Co, said: “Located in the heart of East London, The Gun offers so much potential as a venue.
“We challenged the S + Co, the creative lead and designers, working in partnership with D-Raw as delivery architects, to overhaul the interior so it is now a completely new and innovative destination with a beautiful industrial-look and feel that is unique to London.
“The vision was to create a welcoming environment for people to relax in, enjoy the exceptional atmosphere, great drinks and amazing food. We cannot wait to open our doors to the public next month.”
The Gun will join Ten Bells in Spitalfields and The Lock Tavern in Camden in the East London Pub Co portfolio.
