English mustard added to Mr Trotter’s crackling range

A new English mustard flavour has been added to the Mr Trotter’s Great British Pork Crackling range.

Mr Trotter’s English Mustard Crackling joins Mr Trotter’s Original and Mr Trotter’s Jalapeno Cracklings. Like the first two, it is made from 100% prime British pigs, triple cooked for a proper crunch, and sprinkled with special seasonings.

Mr Trotter’s co-founder Matthew Fort said: “There are all manner of foreign mustards – French moutard, German Senf, Italian Senape, Argentinian Savora, and sweet American mustard that’s only fit for a hot dog.

“In contrast English mustard is a smooth, elegant condiment, a brilliant, natural yellow, with the impact of a gastronomic powder keg – keen, clean, potent and brilliantly British.

“Mr Trotter has harnessed that distinctive English mustard flavour for his latest pork crackling. It’s a natural combination because, let’s face it, Mr Trotter is British to his marrow, as sharp as a tack and as keen as – well – mustard.”

Mr Trotter’s was devised by Matthew with restaurateur and drinks specialist Tom Parker Bowles who teamed up with Cotswold farmer Rupert Ponsonby along with Graham Jebb of RayGray Snacks and Karyn Walker.

Being made from 100% British pork differentiates it from other scratchings which are made from imported Danish rind. The products carry the Red Tractor quality and origin assurance symbol and use no added MSG.
