Entries open for No 3 Gin’s annual cocktail tournament

No 3 Gin Cocktail Tournament

Bartenders have the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Hong Kong as part of No 3 London Dry Gin’s annual cocktail tournament.

For round one of this year’s challenge, bartenders must create a modern twist on the 20th Century Cocktail using No 3 that embraces the spirit of “Unlock Taste” – a platform to elevate gin serves using intriguing flavour combinations.

A shortlist of successful contestants will then be invited to one of five regional finals in April where they will test their wit, knowledge and bartending skills while presenting their reimagined 20th Century Cocktail recipes to a panel of judges.

The regional winners will battle it out at the National Final at No 3 St James’s Street on 21 May, bringing the total number of challengers to six, symbolic of the six botanicals comprising No 3.

Following this, the top three bartenders will be selected by a panel of judges, to include No 3 Gin brand ambassador Richard Gillam, drinks writer and publisher Simon Difford and renowned bartender Alessandro Palazzi.

Richard said: “We’re thrilled to be kicking-off the No 3 National Cocktail Tournament for a third year running – testament to its popularity and prestige within the UK bartending scene.

“This year’s theme gives challengers a platform to showcase their creativity, skills and passion, in an environment that we hope will nurture new and existing friendships, whilst reinforcing the versatility of No 3.

“We have such an innovative and dynamic cocktail scene here in the UK, so I’m looking forward to seeing how contestants respond to the challenge and discovering new emerging talent.”

The winner of the three-part competition will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Hong Kong, as well as a residency at one of the world’s top 50 bars.

Competition entries close on 28 February 2019. For details on how to enter and terms and conditions, contact your FMV representative or spirits@fmv.co.uk.
