Dan is director of Manchester-based Escapade Bars, which provides mobile cocktail bars and bar consultancy throughout the UK and overseas. He was previously general manager of Manchester private members club Sugar Lounge and beverage manager of the luxury Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.
He said: “We want to bring some of our creativity and rawness close to the heart of Manchester, and think that there is a niche for a small independent but owner-operated bar at this end of town that offers a truly luxurious experience.”
Aiming to “fill the gap between the vibrant Northern Quarter and the more corporate and sophisticated Spinningfields”, he said more details about the interior and the drinks would be coming soon.
General manager Jaime Wilkinson, who is also operations manager of Escapade Bars, added: “Exceptional service is our main driving force. We feel the customer needs to become part of the cocktail-making experience, putting them right at the heart of our menu and creating more synergy between great drinks and having a great time too.”
Recent projects by Escapade Bars have included consultancy for the new Vega Lounge which opened at Manchester’s entertainment and gaming venue Manchester235 this summer. New drinks included The Vault which is a cocktail presented in a modified mini safe with a working lock, TNT explosives on the side and lit sparklers.
