Expanding Arc Inspirations appoints MD as sales and earnings grow

Leading bar operator Arc Inspirations has appointed a new managing director as it continues to expand and increase sales and earnings.

Anni Opong (pictured) has been promoted to the role after joining the business in 2003 as food and service quality manager and progressing to operations director.

She will work alongside founder and CEO Martin Wolstencroft, who formerly held the role of managing director, in orchestrating the next phase of growth for the 15-strong operator.

She will also direct the operations team of 11 managers responsible for sales, profit, quality, service, food and beverage development, and marketing.

Her appointment was announced as Arc Inspirations reported an 18% increase in total annual sales to £22.5m and 88% growth in earnings (EBITDA) to £2.6m.

Arc Inspirations’ most recent investments include the launch of a Banyan Bar & Kitchen in City Square in Leeds and its second Manahatta site, opening on Greek Street in Leeds, which recorded the most successful opening week for the company.

The company has also launched Leeds’ first cocktail delivery service in partnership with Deliveroo. Established in 1999, Arc Inspirations operates bars across the Leeds area as well as in Manchester, Harrogate and York.

Martin said: “I’m delighted to have Anni in place as managing director – it’s a great promotion and natural progression for her and a testament to her passion and commitment to the hospitality industry.

“Now, with a strong leadership team, combined with our phenomenal financial results we can cement our position as one of the leading bar and restaurant operators in the north of England and kick-start our plans to open 10 sites in the next three years.”

Before joining Arc Inspirations, Anni trained in hospitality and hotel management in Finland before moving to London’s famed Fashion Café as supervisor with a tenure in the brand’s Miami site.

She said: “I’m incredibly proud to be managing director at such an exciting time for the business. Having been close to the brand for 14 years, its continued growth is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the dedicated team – something which I am looking forward to continuing and developing as part of my role and see the hard work of our people come to fruition.”
