FIRST BAR IN LONDON INSTALLS ‘CLENZAIR’ ANTI-COVID AIR CLEANING TECH INTO VENUE

A bar in London has become the first in the city to install ‘anti-Covid’ air cleaning technology inside its venue.

Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen in upmarket Fitzrovia has had ‘Clenzair’ placed in its pub which transforms into a club at night.

Using new state-of-the-art technology called Needlepoint Bipolar Ionisation (NPBI), the bar has several free-hanging air cleaning fans positioned in the ceilings which have been proven to kill coronavirus.

NPBI is an ‘active’ air purification system which means it can kill Covid particles suspended in the air or on a surface in the room and is even installed in The White House in Washington D.C.

Tests against a live strain of SARS-CoV-2 have proven that NPBI can kill Covid-19, as well as other pathogens such as MRSA, bird flu, swine flu, ebola and E. Coli, by introducing air cleaning ions into the airstream.

Cambridgeshire-based air purification specialist, Clenzair is the sole supplier of the NBPI technology and says the system is certified to the required standards to demonstrate that it does not release ozone or volatile organic chemicals. It also says it holds all certifications to prove that no harmful by-products are created.

Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen in Rathbone Place started trialling ‘Clenzair’ after the third national lockdown earlier this summer.

Bradley Watkins, director at Clenzair, said: “The whole purpose of Clenzair is to make the inside as safe as outside. The management at Jerusalem Bar and Kitchen are extremely forward-thinking and they wanted an air cleaning solution that would provide a Covid-safe environment for their customers.

“We’re delighted to have helped them achieve that with our Clenzair fans which constantly clean the air and surfaces, neutralising any pathogens it comes into contact with, including Covid. The technology achieves this by introducing completely harmless, naturally occurring cleaning ions into the airstream. As we move further forward out of the pandemic, we believe this is the future of indoor air quality.”
