The first new Revolution bar in three-and-a-half years is set to open in Stafford in May after a £1m investment.

It will be the 61st site for Revolution Bars Group which has been focusing investment on refurbishing existing Revolution sites and opening new Cuban-inspired Revolución de Cuba bars.

The new Revolution will be in Stafford’s Riverside area which is undergoing an extensive £70m redevelopment, with the addition of new retail units, a six-screen cinema and a 1,000-space multi-storey car park. The bar will have an outside dining area overlooking the river.

Revolution Bars Group has a strategy in place to ensure both its brands continue to develop although Stafford will be its first new Revolution since 2012. In the final three months of 2015, it opened three Revolución de Cuba sites.

Mark McQuater, CEO of Revolution Bars Group, said: “We have an ambitious development plan for the year ahead in place as both of our brands have real potential for growth and we are keen to expand as much as possible.

“The new location is brilliant, and we are sure our customers will love it. The redevelopment will bring some great bars and restaurants to Stafford, and we are so excited that we will be based alongside this.

“We hope our customers love the new venue as much as we do, and we have huge plans for the launch weekend, including a big party which will have music, entertainment, food and our famous vodka masterclasses.”

The opening will create over 45 new full and part-time jobs. As part of the launch activity, the company sponsored the Stafford Half Marathon on March 20, with team members raising money to support the Katharine House Hospice, a Staffordshire charity supporting people with advanced life-limiting conditions.
